Different cooling methods and characteristics of single cylinder diesel engine
Single cylinder diesel engine has two cooling methods, air cooling and water cooling. Using liquid cooling is often called water cooling. The cooling methods are divided into evaporating cooling and condensing cooling because of the different working principles.
The condensing single cylinder water-cooled diesel engine has good heat dissipation, does not need to add or replace coolant frequently, and can work for a long time. However, it is not suitable for use in extreme high temperature environment, and the manufacturing cost is high.
The evaporating single cylinder water-cooled diesel engine works with clean water, with good heat dissipation, long sustainable working time and wide application scenarios. However, it is necessary to add clean water according to the degree of use to ensure that the water level in the water tank will not be too low and cause shutdown. In terms of maintenance, the water in the water tank needs to be drained in a sub zero environment to prevent freezing damage.
Single cylinder air-cooled diesel engine uses flowing air to dissipate heat. The manufacturing material is characterized by heat resistance, wear resistance and high expansion coefficient. The manufacturing process is much complicated than that of water-cooled diesel engine. It has the advantages of small volume, light weight, convenient use and maintenance, and wide application scenarios. The comparative disadvantages are low power, poor heat dissipation, short service life and easy damage, especially in hot areas for long-term continuous use.
